Level 1-5 Early Childhood Development in a nutshell:
This programme empowers you with the necessary knowledge & skills to assist learners in pre-school settings. It also develops & enhances your understanding, functional knowledge & practical skills as a pre-school / Grade R teacher. ECD enables you to improve your teaching practice & to progress in your career as an ECD practitioner.
Admission requirements:
- Basic Certificate: Grade 9;
- National Certificate: Grade 11;
- Higher Certificate: Grade 12;
- National Diploma: Higher Certificate
Duration of the programme:
- Level 4: 2 years full-time
- Level 5: 12 months
- Level 5 (National Diploma): 12 months

Proprietor of own crèche or pre-primary school Level 1-3 (Basic Certificate)

Level 4 National Certificate

- Facilitate a life skills learning programme in the reception year
- Facilitate a literacy learning programme in the reception year
- Facilitate a numeracy learning programme in the reception year
Level 5 - National Diploma
