BEAUFORT WEST CAMPUS
At 260km away from the Central Office in George, this is the most remote campus of the South Cape College. Beaufort West has been declared a nodal area for development and assistance. South Cape College is responding with initiatives to react to this need. Engineering, Entrepreneurship and skills training are being promoted to provide the competencies and job opportunities to fully exploit the limited economic circumstances that prevail.
Classes are currently being offered in National Certificate Vocationals as well as N4 - N6 Management Assistent as well as various skills programmes both on and off site such as Nelspoort.
South Cape College Beaufort West had already enrolled a large number of students for Computer Practice, mostly N3, but also N4, to N6. The examination results since June 2004 for tertiary semester 1 (ie. N4 to N6) reflected that our students had a very high pass-rate, with a healthy sprinkling of distinctions.
The provision of skills-training is an identified priority for Beaufort West Campus to empower the community by improving employability, thereby providing marketable skills that can be utilized by business and industry.
Many of our courses are orientated to enable students to become self-employed entrepreneurs (and thus employers in their own right). South Cape College Beaufort West is indeed committed to providing quality education and training to the community of Beaufort West and the outlying districts of the Karoo.
